Because of the drought in the US, meat prices are expected to fall for a while, then shoot through the roof.
Rising food prices, the growing population and environmental concerns are just a few issues that have organisations – including the United Nations and the government – worrying about how we will feed ourselves in the future.
[...]
“Rising prices mean we are now starting to see the return of meat as a luxury. As a result we are looking for new ways to fill the meat gap.”

Insects, or mini-livestock as they could become known, will become a staple of our diet, says Gaye.
Other things mentioned are sonic-enhanced food, lab grown meat, and algae. Yum.

Plane Driven conversion kit lets a Glasair aircraft be driven as a trike
We’ve certainly been hearing a lot lately about the Terrafugia Transition, the “roadable aircraft” designed to be driven on the road or flown in the air. While it’s been designed from scratch as a completely original vehicle, Trey Johnson and his team at Plane Driven have taken a different approach in creating a competing product. Their PD-2 kit can be added to an existing Glasair Sportsman GS-2 light aircraft, allowing it to be converted into a highway-capable motorized trike when needed.

When you’re nearly 700 pounds and you’re looking to lose weight, your options can be limited. Pauline Potter, the Guinness World’s Record holder for the world’s largest woman has found that very frequent and vigorous sex with her ex-husband— up to seven times a day— has been a pretty effective workout routine.
According to Closer Magazine, Potter said she re-ignited her sex life with her ex-husband Alex, and after rigorous sessions of six to seven rounds of sex a day, she lost 98 pounds.
She told Closer Magazine: “I can’t move much in bed, but I burn 500 calories a session –- it’s great exercise just jiggling around.”
Potter hopes that with regular marathon sex sessions of seven rounds a day with Alex, she will achieve her weight target of 532 pounds. Potter describes her fun-filled sex life: “We love foreplay and massages and, as well as full sex, I pleasure Alex, too. My bed is strengthened and, although I can’t buy sexy lingerie, I drape a nice sheet over me.”
According to The Sun, the sex giants met online in 2002, after Alex sent an email to the wrong address that happened to be Potter’s. After they exchanged several emails, an online affair blossomed. But Potter said she was afraid she would be rejected because even at that time she was heavy. The Sun reports she said: “After I emailed my picture and told Alex how much I weighed, I switched off the computer, thinking I’d never hear from him again. But three hours later I received an email from him saying he thought I was beautiful and it didn’t matter to him how much I weighed. I fell head over heels in love and we were engaged a year later.”
The two were married in 2005. Potter and her son Dillon, moved to Phoenix to live with Alex and his son Sherman. But according to Potter, “From day one Sherman and I didn’t get along.”
In 2008, Pauline filed for divorce and moved back to Sacramento with her son Dillon. She said: “It was the biggest regret of my life walking out on my family. Sherman and I have since made up.”
According to The Huffington Post, Potter began gaining weight after the separation, consuming up to 10,000 calories a day. Her body weight soared to over 600 pounds. The Sun reports that Potter, 47, became so fat that she was unable to move. Her son Dillon, 19, became her caregiver, doing the cooking and bathing her. Closer Magazine reports that she contacted the Guinness Book of World Records in the hope that winning the Guinness title of the “World’s heaviest Woman” would shame her into losing weight.
Potter and her ex-husband Alex, spoke to each other on the phone occasionally after their divorce, but Alex had no idea that his ex-wife had gained so much weight until she made the headlines last year as the world’s heaviest woman.
When Alex heard about ex’s new found fame as the Guinness Book of World Record’s heaviest woman, he contacted her and the flame was rekindled.

SAN FRANCISCO (WWJ) - BMW North America has probably had to deal with plenty of unusual lawsuits, but one filed last week may be a first — a California man says the seat on his motorcycle has given him an erection he just can’t shake.
Henry Wolf of California is suing BMW America and aftermarket seatmaker Corbin-Pacific claiming his issue began after a four-hour ride on his 1993 BMW motorcycle, with a ridge like seat. Wolf is seeking compensation for lost wages, medical expenses, emotional distress and what he calls “general damage.”
He said he’s had the erection non-stop for 20 months. And it comes with another side effect: The lawsuit says Wolf is “now is unable to engage in sexual activity, which is causing him substantial emotional and mental anguish.” http://goo.gl/5Yu3k
